For a truly elevated sushi experience in South Jersey, did you know that Mikado Japanese Restaurant offers omakase dining? Omakase is a Japanese dining style that means “I’ll leave it up to you,” allowing the chef to craft a multi-course, surprise-tasting experience with the freshest seasonal ingredients available.
This is an experience you need to book in advance. Priced at $74 per person, the chef-curated tasting is best enjoyed at the sushi bar, where guests receive personalized, one-on-one service and a front-row seat to the artistry behind each course. The omakase at Mikado includes eleven courses featuring the highest quality premium fish.

Having experienced Mikado’s omakase firsthand, I can confidently say it’s something you need to try for yourself. Omakase is a rarity in South Jersey. It usually requires a trip across the bridge. At Mikado, you’ll discover sushi pieces featuring upscale ingredients like caviar, foie gras, and truffles. Do call ahead to reserve your one-of-a-kind omakase experience at Mikado. Call (856) 665-4411 and tell them SJFS sent you.
Coming Soon!
Exciting changes are ahead for Mikado. The restaurant is set to unveil a full bar this year, having secured a liquor license in 2024 and already offering a curated selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Starting in June, the front patio will be transformed into a 20-seat bar, opening this fall with handcrafted cocktails thoughtfully paired with Mikado’s Japanese cuisine. I will be keeping everyone updated on that progress!
Whether you opt for the immersive omakase or order à la carte, Mikado remains a go-to Japanese restaurant in Cherry Hill. Mikado is open for lunch and dinner daily.
